About
Wild Rose Rescue Ranch is a small ranch in the Piney woods of East Texas and the home of Bob and Georganne Lenham. It is a natural habitat for wildlife with its rolling pastures, thick lush woods, ponds and flowing streams. We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of wildlife that have been injured, lost or orphaned. We will never, however, turn our backs on any animal in need, domestic or wild, and will do everything we can to stabilize the animal until it can be transported to the species-specific (licensed) wildlife rehabilitator or a domestic animal rescue group. For animals that we do not rehab here at the ranch, we can provide referral to specific domestic animal rescue groups in which we have confidence. We have learned, sadly, that not all rescue groups are created equal.
We are ‘happy ending’-driven, desiring that each and every animal rehabilitated here at the ranch is returned to the wild to live out its life as God intended, wild and free, thus happy.
However, in the sad event that a rescued animal can not be saved and is called home to be with the Lord, it is the desire of our hearts that the little one does not suffer or die alone and cold on the side of some highway, but rather, leaves this earth knowing it was loved—if only for a moment.
Wild Rose Rescue Ranch is a not-for-profit Texas corporation with no funding by state or private organizations. As such, we are currently working on a series of stories about the wildlife we have rescued in the hopes that the sale of these books will help us to continue our work at the ranch. The series contains real-life photographs of the animals here at the ranch along with their individual rescue story. It is our prayer that when the reader closes the last page to one of our books that he/she does so with a heart forever changed by the realization that animals are God's precious gifts of love, given in love...givers of love.
Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perserveres. I Corinthians 13:4-7
And now these three remain...faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. I Corinthians 13:13
